PIM for Same Deutz-Fahr: Digital Transformation with Pimento

Background

SDF is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of tractors, harvesting machines and diesel engines. It distributes products through the Same, Deutz-Fahr, Lamborghini Trattori, Hürlimann and Grégoire.

The Company has its headquarters in North Italy and its strategy is based on offering an extensive product range, on expanding its sales network on key and emerging markets, on giving its production capacity an international dimension, on overseeing technological know-how internally developing core components.

SDF has more than 3,800 employees and in 2019 the company recorded a revenue of € 1,268 million and an EBITDA of 8.7%.

Business needs

To directly reach the end-customers as well as the independent workshops in addition to the official dealer network.

To enrich the aftersales offering with third-party products in order to attract increasingly more customers on the Product Information Portal, turning it into a Marketplace specializing in aftersales products for the agricultural equipment industry.

To implement the Marketplace as part of a larger Product Information Portal implemented on top of the EPARTS platform, including for example solutions for the management of the SPC related to the Machines of the Group, the management of the Scheduled Maintenance Plans of the Machines.

Solution

As a result of a long-standing relationship and high level understanding of clients' data, systems and neeeds, Key Technologies proposed the extention of the EPARTS solution, already adopted by SDF for Spare parts catalogs, Time schedules, Technical documentation and manuals, with Pimento module for a seamless product-oriented Information management and content distribution.
Pimento solution brought to SDF a possibility to centralize product data governance and customize product and service offering for its customers for various product types: Accessories, Trade Parts, Lubricants, Workshop Tools, Service Contracts,... and publish them on several marketplaces.
The SDF store - Digital Product Information Portal - implemented both as a B2B and B2C ecommerce platform for multiple markets, is aimed at publishing products and services of the Group and enabling third-party vendors (DFS) to list their products and directly interact with buyers. It's managed as a dedicated store for each market, with highly customized content depending on the market needs, marketing strategies, product availability and promotional offering. It features direct payment methods, user registration, complete and cross integration with other EPARTS modules, providing an elevated customer experience.
